Elton John annuncia l’uscita della greatest hits definitivo in uscita a novembre

A cominciare da Your Song, questa compilation raccoglie alcune fra le più belle canzoni di tutti i tempi, fra cui Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man (I Think It’s Going To Be A Long, Long Time), Candle In The Wind, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, Sacrifice, Can You Feel The Love Tonight ed il duetto con George Michael Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.

L’uscita di Diamonds coincide con il 50° anniversario del sodalizio artistico con Bernie Taupin, uno dei più duraturi di tutti i tempi. Elton dice: «La nostra relazione è più salda che mai. In certi momenti abbiamo scritto con altre persone, ma non abbiamo mai smesso di volerci bene. Amo Bernie e credo lui provi la stessa cosa per me. Lo straordinario rispetto e l’amore reciproco sono sempre cresciuti fra noi». Bernie replica: «C’è qualcosa di magico quando ci riuniamo per scrivere insieme; e quella sensazione non è invecchiata».

L’annuncio di Diamonds arriva in un momento in cui la rilevanza di Elton nel mondo della musica, del fashion e dell’entertainment è più importante che mai. Solo la settimana sorsa Gucci ha svelato la collezione primavera/estate 2018 firmata da Alessandro Michele ed ispirata all’inimitabile stile di Elton. È uscito il film – Kingsman: The Golden Circle – in cui Elton John appare nel divertente ruolo di sé stesso.

Una carriera inimitabile, una musica che continua a riempire gli stadi e a scalare le classifiche, conquistando sempre nuovi fan, di tutte le età.
